Public hours for American Citizen Services are Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, 1:30pm to 3:00pm by appointment only. We are closed on U.S. and Iraqi holidays.

If you are interested in Passport & Citizenship services, such as applying for a new U.S. passport, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, notary services, or any other U.S. citizen service, click here.

The Consular Section is located on the U.S. Consulate General Compound in Erbil, Ankawa, Ishtar Street, next to the Ankawa Police Station.

  • During business hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday (local Erbil time is seven hours ahead of the East coast time for the United States)

The Consular Section currently only accepts cash (USD) for payment of passport, citizenship and notary service fees.
